Hi! I am a certified Jolly Phonics instructor. Under the Jolly Phonics curriculum we follow a specific pattern to teach beginning sounds. We do not begin teaching sounds in alphabetical order a-z.
The sounds are divided into 7 groups. I will share Jolly Phonics sounds’ worksheets for the first three of the seven groups with you today. All the short vowels are covered in the first 3 groups

After completing the first three groups, we can begin to teach blending and CVC words.
The first group is ‘satpin.’ Identify the pictures and match them to their beginning sounds. There are 6 pictures on the left that begin with s a t p i n. In the centre we have the bubble letters satpin. To the right, we have 6 pictures that begin with s a t p i n.
These worksheets can be confusing for our little preschoolers since there are pictures on both sides. So, we usually do one side at a time. First, match pictures on the left to their beginning sounds and then match pictures on the right to their beginning sounds.
The second group is ckehrmd.
The group 3 Jolly Phonics sounds are goulfb.
I have a similar worksheet pack for a-z beginning sound match. It covers the sounds in alphabetical order.
Our little learners have to match the beginning sounds to the pictures. The answers have been provided in the pack.
Do not forget to colour the pictures. This is a great pack to revisit beginning sounds before moving on to blending.
