Three letter words or short vowel words or CVC words are the foundation of becoming a good reader and writer. It is what introduces the children to the world of blending and segmenting sounds and understanding patterns in words. This pack is ideal for kindergarten to practice writing three letter words.
We begin with beginning sounds for letters and then move on to blending those sounds. Word families for short vowel words are introduced and once the children are comfortable with blending, we teach them segmenting. Segmenting of sounds is what teaches our little learners how to spell.
I am back with another ClipCard activity pack!
This time it’s clipping the short vowel words. It will come in handy when the kids are done with all the short vowel sounds for CVC words. It’s a great resource for practice.
If you are looking to practice writing short vowel words, check this free ‘Write the CVC words’ Pack.
Identify the picture and clip the CVC word. I have tried to make it a little challenging by keeping some sounds similar among the three options.
If you look at the sheet below, you will see that the beginning and ending sounds are quite similar so guess work will not do!
There are 15 sheets with 4 cards on each sheet. There are 60 cards up for grabs! And they are absolutely free!
You will need to print these sheets and cut them into clip cards. Print these clip cards on card stock. If card stock is not possible, try 100 GSM A4 sheets like these.
Print off the clip it cards and cut them.
Pair them with some cute clips like these.
Parent supervision is necessary for such activities.
This pack is a subscriber freebie.
