Sight words are words that do not follow the rules of spelling. Our little readers have to memorize these words because decoding them is difficult.

Identify the pictures and their beginning sounds. Crack the code using the beginning sounds and form the sight word.
They are also known as high-frequency words since they appear often during reading.
Children are taught to memorize sight words as a whole so that they can recognize them immediately and read them without having to decode them.

You will need to print these sheets and cut them into cards. Print these picture cards on card stock and laminate them for durability.
